The shelf life of polyester nonwoven fabrics is mainly affected by environmental conditions, material stability, and packaging methods. Environmental temperature and humidity are key factors affecting shelf life. High temperatures accelerate the aging process of polyester fibers, leading to molecular chain breakage or cross-linking, thus reducing the material's mechanical properties and appearance. High humidity environments can cause fibers to absorb moisture. Although polyester fibers themselves have low hygroscopicity, long-term exposure to humid environments can still lead to performance degradation or mold growth.

The stability of the material depends on the chemical composition of the polyester fibers and the use of additives. High-quality polyester fibers typically have high antioxidant and UV resistance, which can slow down the aging process. Adding antioxidants, light stabilizers, and other additives can further improve the material's weather resistance and extend its shelf life. In addition, fiber purity and processing technology also affect stability; impurities or process defects can become the starting point for material degradation.

The impact of packaging methods on shelf life is also significant. Sealed packaging effectively isolates external moisture and contaminants, reducing environmental erosion of the material. The use of moisture-proof packaging materials (such as aluminum foil composite films) can further reduce the impact of humidity. Meanwhile, avoiding direct sunlight and mechanical compression are also important measures to extend shelf life. Proper packaging design and storage conditions can ensure that polyester nonwoven fabrics maintain stable performance during long-term storage.
